Modernity presents us with a strange dilemma. Books, articles, and multimedia on Islam and Muslims have never before been so readily accessible as online bookstores and groundbreaking Islamic software have brought complete compendiums of traditional literature to the fingertips of eager learners. As new bookseries and cd-sets line conventions tables and fill online bookstores, it is becoming clear that an increase in literature is not sufficient in leading to an increase in literacy.
The Ghazali Project was founded in the Spring of 2006 to facilitate the eager reader’s quest for heightened Islamic literacy. The project is dedicated to the creation of engaging English summaries of important books, articles, and multimedia on Islam and Muslims.
Ghazali Project summaries are designed for the benefit of Muslims who wish to access their rich tradition, and academics interested in Islamic studies.
